The ability to walk on two feet in an upright position granted us so many advantages.
To be veer past horizon and observe income danger gave us foresight to avoid perilous situations.
Millions of years of evolution helped us grow into marathon travelers you see today.
So what happened to folks just walking.
The average 25-30yr old walks apprx 4k steps a day.
That’s about 1.2 miles. That’s simply tragic.
What that means is more than half of our population is walking under a mile a day.
Folks are literally not walking unless it’s to the car or walking into work.
Coupled that with fact most people hold office jobs. These humans are just sitting piles of flesh.
For most of my consultation. I ask folks how many steps are you moving. Before you worry about strength. You need to worry about your baseline health.
Weightlifting only exacerbates the problem if your main staple of cardio isn’t met.
This is great misconception that the fitness industry has promoted.
Instead of asking someone bench press. Ask how many steps have you taken.
The reason most trainers don’t bring it up.
1.) They’re ignorant to this fact about health.
2.) There’s no money in telling people to walk more if they want to get in shape.
If you truly care about your fellow man. Tell them to walk.
